I like the descriptions, but the page is frikkin huge. I think it's a great idea, tohugh. Perhaps there's a way to break it down to multiple pages or maybe into further categories with anchors.

How about including a small thumbnail for each project? You could ask each owner to provide the thumbnail on their own webspace and link straight to it; this would make spotting broken links much easier too (if their site goes down so does the thumbnail).

That would not be a good idea, it wouldn't work with my sites as you can't have external links.

I'm leaning towards a graphically intense version of the page linked off the main page (so you don't get clobbered without warning), with all images hosted on my server...

How about small icons to denote some of the features as submitted on the "Submit Project" link?  Like an icon for rotating monitor, 4-player panel, scratch-built or converted, etc.  Lots of good information there that is nly put to use on advanced searches...

Each section should have a top ten with small pic and expanded description, then the others could be standard smaller links with the icons mentioned above.

How about just a simple detailed list (spreadsheet) with all the details on one line per example (a bit like in Mame32+). Make it sortable per column and you could sort the list based on the details.

Is there no registration of the date when the example was added?
