IPAC/T-Stik Problems
« on: September 06, 2003, 10:59:02 pm »
Hey all.  I finally got around to wiring my control panel and ran across a slight speed bump.  All of the buttons will put in the correct keyboard presses as they should. However, if I use the joystick, I click it once, and the key associated with that direction will continually "be pressed."  I tested this in notepad after installing the IPAC software.  If I push left on joystick player one, the cursor will just continually go left as long as it can (and assumeably would go further if it could)

This occurs with both joysticks and happens no matter what slots on the IPAC the joystick switches are connected to.  As far as I know, the joysticks are wired properly (just like the rest of the buttons).

Any input would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

MAke sure you wired to the N.O. (normally open) contacts on the microswithces and not to the N.C. (normally closed).

It sounds like you do NOT have it wired correctly.  I would suggest putting the ground wires to the COM tab on the microswitches and the input wires to the NO tab on the microswitches.  Do not use the NC tab on the microswitches.

If I recall correctly, the T-sticks wiring tabs are opposite from the regular happs ones. You have to wire to the outside connectors.
