LEDs for Coin Doors

I'm not sure if the company makes bayonette style or (the other style I can't remember the name off the top of my head) but these are the bees knees!

holy cow they're wanting $35 to $40 each for those bulbs!

I got these other bulbs from Happ for $4.50 each...  and they have 3 of that kind of LED in them.  Unbelievably bright.  They're wedge base though if that matters.  (pic shows it inside the light socket that came with my coin door.)  

It sounds like the main feature of those EverLED things is a little current limiter that prolongs battery life.  You might have to check if it works with high current capacity power supplies.  Most batteries aren't capable of providing much more current than an LED can handle.

Yes, these are for flashlights, not for regular use.  There's a special circuit to make the best use of all battery power.  Should probably move this to 'everything else' or close the thread.

I've been told that this unit can extend that life to around 36 hours.  Straight.

I got all excited when I saw the subject thinking I was going to see the same link I saw here months ago.
 
Should try a Search through the forums.  I do remember quite a few months ago, someone posted a link to a website that was selling LEDs that would fit in the same light socket as those of the Coin Door and were same voltage.  And they were not that expensive.  I unfortunatly lost the link and had plans to buy them.

I think those are just discreet LEDs on superbrightleds.com...   I got really bright wedge base LEDs from Happ that fit in the coin door, that's what is in the picture above - part number is 91-10WB-123W, went for $4.41 each.  Contains three small white LEDs, connects directly to 12v without needing any additional resistors.

Happs is a very large site, with a vast inventory.  I was talking about the part itself, and not the site.

part number 91-10WB-123W.  It was up above, but probably easy to miss.

EDIT:  Also, it's not in their catalog that I know of...  I'm not sure.  I think I had to request the part number for what I needed over the telephone.  You can punch in the part # and buy it over the web page anyway though.  From what I hear, they have lots of things that have part numbers but aren't in the catalog, like coin doors that come fitted with token mechs instead of quarter mechs.

I really don't know...  give Happ a call though, the people I've talked to have known their stuff very well, and readily gone out to ask a tech if they didn't.
