cheapest barebones kit
« on: August 12, 2003, 01:32:50 pm »
I'm looking for a cheap barebones kit. Anyone know of any good websites besides tigerdirect.  Just doing some price checking.  My free pesario 5284 isn't bad, but it needs power supply, ram, hard drive, and a good s video card. And it has a 450 mhz. processor.  By the time I buy all those parts  it would better off buying a bare bones kit with a much faster processor. ;D ;D ;D

Try www.pricepc.com

I've bought several BB kits from them, very reasonable, they test everything (even if it means dropping in a HD) before they ship.

They are local for me so I get to save on shipping, but then again I get the sales tax.....

Couldn't recommend them more.....

Good Luck.

That's a high price actually.  You can get a 2400 xp and mb for around 100-120 at tigerdirect.com.  Tiger and newegg are literally the only two online companies I'll buy computer components from.
