tinted plexiglass
« on: June 21, 2009, 12:04:39 am »
2 questions,

1.  Where is a good place to get tinted plexiglass
         Where to get it online?
Does Lowes or Home Depot sell it?

2.  I've read smoked or Greylite 14 are good shades to get.
Can someone confirm or deny this?

Get some gray tinted glass.  It looks WAY better over a monitor, IMO.  If you are settled on plexi or acrylic or something not glass I'd check out US Plastics.  They ship really fast and I think their prices are pretty good.

I found a small local shop that cuts glass for windows, furniture, etc.  They also cut plexi.  You might be able to do the same in your area.

I got a 23x26 cut of smoked glass for about the same price as the tinted plexi was going to cost.  And it works beautifully.

The plexiglass I'm talking about isn't on the top surface, but a smaller piece that goes above the monitor to give it a "floating" effect.
