Mame Em' Up! - My first Cab
« on: April 22, 2008, 04:06:19 pm »
Not quite finished with my cab but it's getting there. Figured I'd show it off a bit prematurely. I am in the process of updating a blog for my project, you can read about my project at:

Here's a few photo's of what it looked like last week...

Any comments or criticism are appreciated!

Thanks for the comments!

The monitor that I am going to use for now is actually an LCD TV that I am going to be replacing. It's a 27" and its got a bunch of awesome inputs dvi, vga, multiple component, etc... So I thought it would be perfect for this MAME cab. I would like to use a 32" but we'll see what happens, the 27" may fit the ratio a bit better. The photo above is a bit stretched so the spot for the screen seems a bit bigger than it actually is. Right now I am working on enclosing the box and plan to use a diamond plate bezel.

I agree...I was surprised at how awesome the chrome t-molding is, I was actually a bit hesitant at first but now I am extremely happy.

The biggest question is, "Are you happy with it?"  Regardless of what anyone says, if you're happy with it that is ALL that matters.

I think your design is pretty damned cool.  However, my opinion means nothing as long as you are happy with what you've done.   ;D

Jdurg -

Yes, I am very happy with the project so far. I will be happier though once I am shooting aliens in Area 51

Also...I am looking into custom artwork for the control panel and marquee at the moment, nothing too extravagant, if anyone is interested or has recommendations of who to use please let me know.

You can email me at travis@brookeandtrav.com too.
