Looking for printable templates for Sanwa regular and S plates
« on: January 11, 2024, 01:38:25 pm »
Does anyone have templates I can print that print actual size?

I'm looking for the standard JLF plate and the JLF-P1-S. I'd like to be able to print, tape on, and drill.

Thanks!

i know the p1-s bracket has the center holes and they are 96mm center to center. (making the center hole for the stick 48mm to either one center to center.) i'm not sure about the flat plate. i think it's 84x40 on centers

alternatively...

i often remove the mounting plate from joysticks and stuff like that and use that as the template to drill with.

alternatively again...

i think sanwa sticks have dimensional drawings online, you can import it into a program like inkscape or photoshop and use the measuring tools to measure and then resize the drawing to make it dimensionally accurate to print... and you can stick it on as you mentioned.

Do you need a printable file (stl, dxf, 3mf, etc) or dimensions to draw out your own?   Would be pretty easy to model up in Fusion 360.  However, since plastics handle stress differently than steel, you'd probably have to design in some additional supports (depending on how hard you are on the joystick while playing)

Here is a regular mounting plate:  https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3446706

I know the s-plates have been out of stock everywhere since like before covid.  I had to order the last set I got off eBay from the UK.

If you really need a model created, let me know.  Maybe I can pull one of mine apart and model it out for you.

Alternatively, you can just route out room for a full regular plate, then make blocks and straps to hold it in place from the back.

Ok, I just drafted this up based on dimensions I found online.  I loaded into the slicer and it looks right, but I haven't printed or tested it in anyway.  I'd probably print it on its side, maybe with a brim, depending on what kind of build plate is used.   I included the PNG file I used for the dimensions in the zip file.

Let me know if it works!

Awesome, thank you! I'll try this out this afternoon.

I suck at woodworking and things like that so was just looking for something I can print out, actual size & stick on to drill out.

it's handy when incredible technologies puts templates for the control panel buttons and trackball in the back of the manuals. when i inevitably have to remake a panel cause it got busted, having a full size layout i can photocopy really helps and i don't have to try and trace it out with the overlay.

So.  I just realized that the Op was asking for printable templates, not 3D printable models.  My bad.   ;D

I've been 3D printing way too much stuff lately...

this SHOULD be properly sized for printout... provided your printer doesn't do anything weird (print with ACTUAL SIZE in print options, not fit to page or fill)

verify with the actual brackets
