Sega Wing War / Model 1 - help needed

Hi folks,
I got a Wing War Twin sitting around which basically does nothing. Upon powerup one side shows mess on the screen (though constantly) and the other half won't do anything at all.
Sadly I don't have a manual or any other docs on model 1 hardware. Some LEDs constantly show up on various boards but NOTHING happens.
