beginning first project
« on: May 10, 2010, 01:44:11 am »
well here it is

starting with an old stern cab. it was probably a 1p game but im custom making the whole controll layout

i did a quick fab up of a control layout. its wired up with a j-pac. i bought someones failed controller project off ebay. it provided me with the encoder and a bunch or spare buttons. worth the price id say

i still have to fit a monitor in there and strip the paint of the glass. havnt found a monitor yet so i havent fabed that area up at all. i want to use a old tube monitor to give it that classic arcade look. no LCDs

from the outside general appearence i want this thing to look as vintage and "period correct" as possible.

when its finally done its going to be in good company with my two other games. going to make my small study int an "arcade"

i tore into a PC monitor tinight and kinda have it test fitted in there now. i started playing a few games, seen what time it was and said damn, lemme call it a night. tomorrow im going to drill out a better controll panel and maybe start getting player 2 all dialed in

i would try to make the control panel less slanted,it dont look too good a posistion as is.it will be more comfy if its more horizontal.

it shouldn't be that difficult to change the control panel angle...believe me, your wrists will thank you later
