Mr.B!'s Arcade [many many pics!]
« on: December 30, 2002, 02:58:50 am »
..unfortunately they're out of order now.
So I've got this little project goin' on, and I am **FINALLY** at a point that I would call it v1.0.

Right around THanksgiving, I picked up an empty Tempest cabinet(#03150) that was in real nice shape(Thanks Lori!) but completely gutted

I've got a couple more pics on http://www.sixsixsix.com of things in progress

That's lookin pretty nice so far.  Very beta ish but all cabinets are at that stage at the start.  So I'm hoping you're going to put another cp on there, cause you've got a whole nother player on that I-Pac to work with, and joysticks are moderately cheap.  And I hope one day for Tempest's sake you either build your own or buy an oscar spinner and put it in there.
  -Good job so far

Due to it bein so close to Xmas I only picked up the Ipac and one set of stick/buttons so I could at least get my feet wet and have a playalbe demo. Ive already got a spinner, trackball, and a layout for the additional controls.. Another week or so I'll be ordering the Opti and be able to "Finish" ::)

Thats practically a crime that you covered up that sideart though. You should have left the top portion intact. It would have looked great.
tsk tsk.
If you build a frankenpanel, chances are I don't care for you as a person.

It woulda needed to be covered by clear contact or plexi or something, was cracked & peeling all 'round. Definitely one of the more intimidating VG art characters. I did save a good-sized piece from the other side(i think, mighta been this side) of him, might be frame worthy sometime.

I actually got smacked today cuz I knocked the wife's scores off of Burger Time :D

What a shame that you couldn't save the sideart...  :'(  Looking good otherwise!

K3wl d00d!  I told you this before, but I think that the unique shape of the Tempest cab makes for a very cool-looking cab.

Oh man, when my wife fired up Centipede and saw MY initials at the top score position, it wasn't pretty.

I've found some repro full side artwork for 100bucks that I may invest in with tax money coming back..  Options for the future

If/when I decide to sell it or move on to another I would definitely consider refinishing it to the original artwrk
