Help identify this cab (before conversion)

this is up on eBay right now and I am considering bidding. 

It's a combatribes now but I am wondering what it was before conversion.  It seems to have a Midway style coin door but the cab shape is "Defender-esque."  In this conversion the monitor sits flat, however, the plexiglass monitor bezel is upright, indicating that the original cab had a monitor that was oriented upright.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

That looks like a generic cab made in Ottawa Canada. There are quite a few of them around here. They house all sorts of games.

I'm thinking "Frogger" or some other early Sega/Gremlin game. Most likely a Frogger cab though.

Thanks to both of you for answering.  Spider, it sure does look like a Frogger, but I think Quarters really knows his Generic Ottawa cabs and has properly identified it.  I'm thinking that whoever made these cabs back in the day must have used a Frogger as a template.

Thanks again; I think I'll give this cab auction a pass.

My generic cab is almost just like that. Mine had Crazy Kong art on it when I bought it. The biggest difference is that mine had the monitor more upright so that it was even with the front glass. Could have been moved though considering how badly the monitor was mounted in there.

It's a generic. I have the exact same cab which I am converting to MAME. Mine was built by "Vendall" in Ottawa, Ontario.

The design of the cabinet is indeed based on "Frogger". The way you know it was not a Frogger is the color of the woodgrain (Frogger was lighter), and the very top corner on a Frogger is much more "pointy" whereas these imitation cabs have it more rounded.

Also note how the Frogger coin door is a different shape.

But only an "expert" would know if you converted that Combatribes to a Frogger....

Is that real diamond plate or simulated?  Does it have a plexi cover of the diamon plate?  I was thinking about this for my cabinet.  I think it kind of looks cool.  Is diamond plate hard to work with/cut/drill?

You can buy the diamond plate stuff from auto shops there is a better brand that looks very close to real than the plastic looking one just so u know
