Game maker games

I've been trying to run Spelunky (pc game made with Game Maker) with Mala, but Game Maker games tend to have a loading screen thing and once it's loaded a new window pops up. However this 2nd window (the actual game) pops up underneath mala, so every time I load up the game I have to get out the keyboard and alt + tab it. Is this because mala is always trying "to be on top" of other windows?
