Greetings -
« on: December 13, 2009, 01:01:06 pm »
Greetings to the group and happy holidays!

I am a pinhead at heart and currently have 9 very nice games.
My current line up is:

Family Guy
Wheel of Fortune
Getaway
Whitewater
Addams Family
Theater of Magic
Twilight Zone
Revenge from Mars
Road Show.

All have been shopped by myself and my last project was my Getaway-

After-

This was a rush to get done and my junk cleaned up before turkey day. I still love a few classics arcade games but got rid of my vids and built a MAME system last year. The play time dropped off on the MAME system so I sold it and picked up a Megatouch Force Radeon. It gets played a LOT.

Recently a good friend did the ultimate "good buddy" move. Back in 1985 I purchased a Dragons Lair machine from Alladins Castle. It came from a nice no smoking or drinking environment. I had it several years and my friend wanted to buy it. I sold it to him and asked if he ever want to sell it I would take it back in a heart beat. He had it for 17 years. He game me a call last week and asked if I still wanted it back. I said "hell ya"!. I picked it up and it's still in very nice shape. His kids did pick at the side art which I will replace and someone cracked the score display panel which I will try to track one down. The original Pioneer PR-7820 still runs but I have to fix a slipping disc on spindle condition. The really cool think about it is I still have all the original paperwork, manuals, disc jacket and sales receipt.

Oh well, rant mode off and time to do some repair work!

Welcome to the community. Nice selection of pins, I like most all of those games. One question about the light kit on your Getaway: Where did you get it? I've seen people who have had them before and curious how much and if you have to hack away at the harness to install it. Amazing that the laserdisc player still works. I'd love to own one of those but finding one worth saving is a pain.
Where's my gold star :P

I snagged a 40 LED blue flasher on fleabay for around $20 shipped from China. The hook up is really pretty easy. The factory beacon light runs on AC and the LED flashers run on DC. I simply removed the wires from the IDC connector and slid them out about an inch then pushed them back in place. This extra length gave me a little room to solder to. The only other part you need is a standard bridge rectifier ($3.00). You solder two wires from the AC wires you just moved to the AC legs of the bridge rectifier. Run two DC wires from the bridge to the flasher input.

It really takes longer to explain than actually do!

Over a span of 5 years.
I have always had "some" pins but I really concentrated on what I liked the most and that's the DMD games. I sold some stuff I was not using to buy stuff I can use by walking down stairs and other can enjoy.
