FS: 2-Player MAME Control Panel
« on: November 02, 2009, 11:28:13 am »
The following has been copy/pasted from other, less game-oriented forums, so excuse the length of the description.

So, I few years back I decided to build myself a MAME cabinet which came together rather nicely (albeit with a lot of work), but now I'm desperately in need of money and need to part it out.

What I'm selling here is a 2-player arcade control panel that has been wired to work over PS/2, allowing you to use it with MAME or any other games you'd like (including pinball emulators). The panel measures in at around 28"x15"x9" and consists of:

2 Happ Super Joysticks (8-Way)
18 Red/White/Blue Happ Convex Pushbuttons (and switches)
I-PAC 2 Programmable Keyboard Encoder
Arcade Trackball (PS/2 Wired)

All the components were mounted flush (none of those annoying screw heads or trackball plates sticking out) and all of the wiring was done with quick disconnects for easy maintenance. You'll notice in the pictures that there are 4 long screws on the underside of the panel as well as a BB-sized hole on the top of the panel where I was planning to install a spinner, but never got around to it. The hole is a tad unsightly, so it might be a good idea to add a spinner or something there yourself. This would be great for someone who wants to build their own MAME cabinet, but might be a little weary of wiring up their control panel (there are even mounting holes on the back to attach to a cabinet) or just for someone who wants to use it at their desk.

I'd like to get $150 shipped (within the US) for the panel. Only trade I'd be interested in would be a cheap dSLR (plus money from me of course). You can PM me or send me an email at loddie@gmail.com.

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

The size and weight of this thing makes it such that shipping it within the US will be around $30, so I'd only end up with $70 which I just can't do. I'm hoping to get about $120 after shipping, thus the reason I went with $150 shipped. I could probably drop it to $140 shipped if you were somewhere in the southeast.
