LEDWIZ and Mala game specific configs
« on: October 26, 2009, 07:03:47 pm »
I searched and searched. Even read the wiki. I know I can do this because it tells me I can on the LedWiz plugin page:
*Light up your game specific controls when you launch a game in MAME

This is what I am trying to figure out. I changed one button in StarGate, reverse I think. but when I launch the game
after changing the button (tab in mame) the wrong light lights up and the voice is off also.

I just need to know how to tell the ledWiz plugin or Mala, or Mame, that I changed the button so the right button will light up.

THX!
Mark

Ok update. I got the button I re-configured to light up, reverse. But now the voice skips the button. He reads button 1, 2, then 3 but when he gets to button 4 (same button I re-configured) he skips reading it and goes to button 5.

Ahhh....I created a game specific cfg using LedWiz config program and saved it as stargate.cfg but that didnt help. It is how I got the right button to light up though.

If I could get the voice to read the button all would be good :banghead:

Thx

I was reading last night that LEDBlinky will reconfigure the buttons automatically after you reassign them(tab). And it will alow you to cancel or stop the voice while its talking to you if you already know the buttons. I guess this is the way to go?

The LEDWiz plugin was created by Loadman (he's also the MaLa dev). I know he's been busy lately - but he may be able to answer your questions.

As for LEDBlinky, all I can say is give it a try. The setup can be a bit complex but once you have it running it has a lot of options. I'm usually available to help - plus there's a bunch of other users who can offer help if you have any configuration questions.

Edit: If you do decide to try LEDBlinky - don't forget to remove the LEDWiz plugin. With both plugins running at the same time you may get strange results.  :)

Ok will do. I will make sure I remove the plugin first then install LEDBlinky. I am going to try this tonight. I am at work right now.

I think LEDBlinky is the best way to go since it dynamically changes the LED buttons when you reassign a button in MAME (tab). ANd it alows you to stop the instructions if you want.

I will let you know how it goes. I did read every LEDBlinky post on this board by doing a search so I am a step up:)

Thx
