U360's with a JPac: to harness or not to harness?

Hi guys,

I have a J-Pac sending the output from an ArcadeVGA to a Hantarex MTC9000 arcade monitor in a very elegant solution. I bought two MagStick Pluses but am going to replace them with U360's; I originally turned them down because the throw was much longer than the MagSticks but now with the circular restrictor I think I'll be ok.

I've been looking on the Ultimarc site and see there they sell a wiring harness whereby you can connect eight buttons per stick directly to the U360. I was of course going to simply connect them to the J-Pac.

Is there any particular (dis)advantage in one method over the other? Is either particularly responsive, or particularly easy to set up/configure etc? Bear in mind that whatever the answer I'll be keeping the JPac anyway for the monitor connection.

Save your cash and stick with the J-Pac. No point buying another tool when you already have one to do the job.

Simply, the reason for the harnesses is to have keystroke functionality along with the mapping capacity (USB connection).

Thanks guys, I just didn't know if there was any (dis)advantage to using the harness but it appears it makes no odds one way or the other.

Would the harness make cabling the buttons any easier? I don't suppose it would but thought I might ask the question; I'm a noob (first cab) and have never done it before.
