I have some super-nice 27's that only need 24.5" width to fit.  You don't even have to take them out of the metal case.

Too big?

I think that guy is mis-using the term CGA a bit.

I don't think the monitor would actually work with a real CGA card without adding some extra components.

Standard arcade monitors are RGB analog (millions of possible colors) at 15.75 khz horizontal scan frequency, which is pretty much the same as a television but sharper and with much better color.

CGA monitors, on the other hand, use a digital color signal.  The RGB lines are either completely on or completely off, which severely limits the number of colors that can be displayed ( I think the pallette was 8 colors, but I forget).

In any case, they are different birds :)

Actually it should be ok, if you have an ArcadeVGA card or want to use the software tweaks to run a 15.75khz monitor.

The one on Ebay appears to be a television that has been retrofitted with a chassis that has RGB analog inputs.  You should contact the seller to be sure.

For ease of interfacing, you can use straight VGA, but you'll sacrifice authenticity and they cost a little more.  You'll need to scale everything and run at higher than native res of the software, which may or may not cause a hit on processor speed.

For authenticity use Standard Res and an ArcadeVGA card or a software hack for displaying to 15.75khz monitors.  You may need to do a little configuring for the best result.

If money is no object, substitute the WG9200? (multi-frequency) in the above and get the best of all worlds.

Mine are industrial grade 27" RGB monitors (15.75khz).  The CRT face is made of tinted glass for contrast enhancement.  They come in a square metal case that is just a hair larger than the face of the CRT (about 24 3/8" wide).  They also have a composite input for a VCR and the like.

The image is very bright and absolutely no burn-in or scratches on the screen.  It is estimated that these units have less than 100 hours on them.  The difference between one of these and an S-Vid TV has to be seen to really be appreciated  :o :).

Price: $235 plus shipping and insurance.  Contact me if you need pictures or more info.

Also, check out 8lines.com or genao on Ebay for some sweet sweet deals on monitor and chassis. He is magical, and 25" (horizontal, not diag) < $200 is hard to beat. You can read his ebay feedback or google groups some to hear reports on his mad monitoring skills.
