I used to LOVE playing both these games at the mall when I was (much) younger.

Now, Exidy apparently has given the Mame team to OK to make the roms freely available. Right on the ROM page

http://mamedev.org/roms/

The last time I visited the roms page, I don't remember seeing them there. Any idea when that happened?

Anyway, I just thought it was cool they're now freely available.

thats really cool. its been on my christmas list for about 8 years now that more or all companies follow suit, acknowledge what these classic games have done for people, and do the same thing as exidy and atari.

and to me, even if something is still a moneymaking series (like the original street figher and castlevania)if they dont produce it anymore it would be a real great deal if they released those as public domain while not at all giving their rights up to the series.

in this model, IMHO, they should also require original or re released jamma boards for these games in commercial systems.

heres another somthin to think about. How many people do you think would fill up a bowling alley arcade that had tons of machines going all the way from galaga to the neo geo stuff?

it would work again specially for people who arent married.

just about everyone whos my age and grew up with arcades would glady drop 25c at a time into a machine till they won.

the saddest thing is that they never have any games for the older folks to remember and for their kids to enjoy, and they also either insist or they have to to pay the power bill, they charge 75c to a buck per game.

thats ridiculous. stop buying all of the newest games and start buying some of the ones that folks havent played in 15 years, and charge a quarter. that damn coinbox would be full every day.

thats just how i see it though. it might very well be different if your actually in the business id acutally like to hear from someone whos in the business.
