... at a Goodwill!

God, I love my Fit...

It's amazing what fits inside...

No room for a passenger, though...

It would have completely fit if not for that step...

Giving birth...

Oh yeah...

Not bad for $25 !!!

From the front:

Overall good shape!

Innards...

Marquee lit...

The best part was that I didn't even find it.  My wife did, at a Goodwill store, for $25...  She called me up, I told her to buy it then and there, and I picked it up after work.

So far, it plays blind.  Sound and controls work, but no picture.  Money well spent...  now I gotta learn vector monitors.

Impressive that you got that huge ass cab in that tiny little car.   Also impressive that you got that nice looking BZ for $25.00.  I am jealous something fierce.

Just something about those Hondas. I used to have a civic that I crammed stuff in all the time. One summer after college was done, I fit the entire contents of my dorm room (including a stereo rack system and two huge loudspeakers), 20" TV, microwave, etc etc etc.

I had to drive with my arm resting on one of the speakers, and couldn't see out any windows except my driver's side. Safe, eh?

Now I drive a VW passat wagon. I've outfitted it with a class III hitch & a roof rack. Last summer I built my garden shed & used the Vdub to transport all the lumber & supplies -- including the 16' 2x6 ridge beam, strapped to the roof rack.

In January, I picked up a Double Dragon cab & a Rolling Thunder cab shell. The rolling thunder fit in the car, the Double Dragon cab rode behind in a utility trailer. I was pretty impressed to see the cab fit, with the hatch closed, and enough room for a passenger.

I'm never letting go of this car. Say what you want about pickup trucks, but I get 30+ miles to the gallon on my ride, and my trailer carries everything a truck bed could and more.

 :soapbox:

How's the learning about the vector monitor going?

Man, will my cab EVER be finished?

I looked at the monitor.  It appears to be all there...  no idea what the issue is.

It will be interesting troubleshooting it.

Hell before seeing this I would have BET you $25 that you couldn't fit that in there.

I gotta check goodwill more often...

Best thing I've ever found at a goodwill.  Evar!

Fired it up, took the back off.  Monitor neck has glow.  Monitor chassis board has one red LED, and two things that resemble skinny light bulbs (like Christmas tree bulbs).  None of those are lit.

Great snag. I loved Battlezone back in the day. Jeez, those stick handles alone are probably worth more than 25$  :applaud:

Red LED as you know is the spot killer... kills the monitor, indicates a problem when lit..... the other three "bulbs" just ignore.

What kind of problem?

Is it a good idea just to go ahead and Cap the monitor, as a jumping off point?

Buy the kit from Bob Roberts that has the transistors in it.  There is a good chance you'll need at least one.

BTW:  ...when you do your rebuild... before you put the monitor back in... PUT THE DAMN ANODE CAP BACK!

I just made that stupid mistake last night after a rebuild on the same monitor.  Now's it's dead, jim.

Good calls, all around.  I didn't see that Bob had kit, but I found it now.

I'm supposed to lick the giant suction cup before putting it back, right?   ;D

Mine was sort of sticky for some reason, maybe degradation of the rubber.  That would be nasty.  And shocky.  Nastishocky.

Look and see if F100 and/or F101 are blown.  If they are,  you might as well pick up a bridge rectifier at the same time.  That is what was wrong with mine recently...

I do have some fuses blown.  I'll have to see what they are.

I ended up sending it to Chad, the guy who runs arcadecup.com...  he replaced a bunch of stuff in the chassis.  He sent me a list.

It's been running great ever since.
