assembling super8 question...

i just got my super8's in today and i was putting it together.  you know the little metal ring that goes on the bottom?  the C shaped thing.  well i was just wondering, how far are you supposed to push that thing on?  im guessing it holds all the parts from falling off, but i pushed mine in a little and it doesnt go all the way around, is it supposed to?  or just kinda clamp on and hold stuff.?  please help

Push harder. It'll go on. It's made to snap into place.

thanks dude, ill do that.  and while im on the subject of newbie questions, with my pushbuttons, the round black screw on thingy.  whats that for?  just making sure im doing all this right

that black thing is what holds the pushbutton to the cp. you screw it on real tight and leave it, when you want to change buttons unscrew it. w/out it, someone could pull the pushbutton out of the panel.
