Mala problem with missing game files
« on: July 06, 2009, 09:07:04 pm »
I seem to have a problem with some of my games, mainly Street Fighter series and others, when I play the game in mala ver. 1.0.5.8 w/ mame ver. 0.132 the game loads to 100% then says that there are files missing, bouncing it back to mala's game select screen.  I have tested the same games in mameUI32 ver 0.125 and the games work fine... any help?  also, when I use mame ver. 0.132 the games have the same problem, and same issue when I use Mala to mount mameUI32 ver 0.125 :'(  any help please?

Missing file message from mame always means it either cannot find the rom or its the wrong version of the rom.  Often mame roms change from version to version.  For example, there was a change in 131u1 that is probably causing you a problem for sfus.  Look near the bottom of the following page for changes.

To look up other games you can go here, and search using the rom name:

You need to get .132 roms for the ones you're having problems with, or just use mame .125.  Regarding your problem with Mala and mameUI32 ver 0.125, you may need to post your configuration to troubleshoot that.  It's not advisable to use a UI version of Mame with Mala, but it has been done.
