How to setup 3Do with the freedowrapper
« on: June 09, 2009, 11:01:56 am »
So i cracked the problem many people have getting the Freedowrapper to work. I have read many places on the net about people talking about timing problems having to do with Freedowrapper freezing when run. But
how come it could work on an Atlon (single core 1.8) and not my IBM Duocore 2.0 GHz? I figured
someting else was wrong. I had a hard time finding the right files on the net, especially the freedo 1.62
version emu. This setup advise is not that differnt from uncle t's setup advise except that he does not mention that it's specific versions of emu that's needed. And  this special version of Freedo is one is nolonger avaliable at the freedo emu site (wonder why?).

Here's whats needed:

Freedo v1.62 emulator ('mysterious' taken down from the Freedo emulator site!)
No other Freedo emu versions works with the wrapper.

Bios file fz10_rom.bin

FreeDo17WIP.rar file

1. Make a systems folder called Freedo
2. Unzip the Freedo 1.62 into the folder
3. Unzip the FreeDo17WIP.rar on top of the 1.62
4. Edit the wrapper CFG file to have the right directory paths.
5. Place the bios file fz10_rom.bin in the freedo folder and start the Freedo.exe
6. Now in the Freedo emu go to the menu regarding bios (under 'file' select bios and change the file type to 'all files' in order to see the bin file
    and point it the fz10_rom.bin

7. Now make a folder in your system with the iso's. Remenber to unzip them to iso files.

This is regarding to Mala:

Under basics: In the executable, point it to the freedowrapper.exe
Point the rom diretory to the folder with the iso's
In the commandline use the build in preset for the Freedowrapper ("%path%\%rom%.%ext%")
Under basics, lowest down on the page in the field 'rom extentions' write iso, otherwise you wil get a list in the  layout gameliste with cue files and iso files in a mix

Now it starts up in fullscreen with the iso loaded when you run the setup in your FE

If anyone needs any files please post me. Henrika@youseeme.dk
