One of the biggest problems I see in most cabinet designs is the lack of a decent keyboard tray.  In most cases it's simply slapped in there and there's a giant piece of wood sticking up from the end of the tray which kills your wrists whenever you try to use it.
I realize that for most of these cabinets the idea that you would use the keyboard for extended periods of time is ridiculous so it's not a big deal.... but what about a cabinet where that wasn't the case?
With games like Street Fighter 4 coming out I'm putting a very nice machine in my cabinet that I will want to use for other things as well.  Heck I might even want to play games like Command and Conquer with it which require a keyboard and mouse.
The cabinet is going to be a stand up though and while I already have bar stools to make this comfortable, getting the keyboard up to a comfortable to use height level seems to be quite a challenge since it will be underneath the control panel.  I need a keyboard that can be hidden by a piece of wood which slides out of the way to reveal the tray which then slides out and then up.
I've found a few options but the problem mainly is the cost.  These things are several hundred dollars each!!  I had no idea that a simple tray would cost this much.  (Not to mention they'll be very hard to find locally.)  Are there any ideas on how I should handle this problem?
