Makaron Naomi issues

If anyone here has had success running Makaron of their cabinet, I'd love here your advise.

I downloaded the latest Makaron build from this thread: http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=188062

After installing the Visual C++ update, I tested it out on my desktop machine and it worked like a charm (vista64 btw).

When i tried it on my cabinet(xp64), the frontend threw me an unhandled exception error like I used to get on the other machine before the runtimes update, even though I have in fact installed it.

Since i was planning on running it through Atomic FE anyway (with a loader) I tried that instead, and the emulator started just fine, but pretty much all of the fighting games hang after the character select screen and I'm curious if this is related to the previous error in some way.

I also can't get it to recognize my arrow keys that the P1 joystick is coded to, which I'm pretty sure I need for atomic (and warning forever). :banghead:
