My slowly evolving cab...
« on: June 25, 2009, 03:46:59 pm »
A while back I acquired a semi-built cabinet from a friend, and I've always been set on fixing it up.  I've finally decided it's time, so I'm slowly getting things moving.

I've set up a blog to document what I'm doing to the cabinet and review controllers I have.  I'm not as good at this as a lot of you, but some of you may find it entertaining.

Eventually, I'm also going to document a lot of the home media server things I have set up and tested as well.

There's not much there yet, basically a sketch of my idea for a new control panel, but check it out if you have a chance:

Thanks!

I kinda wish I'd gone the swappable cp top route now. Esp with those pop off euro hinges.

Looking forward to seeing the progress.

But please post pics to the forum too!

Thanks!

I'm working on a post about my TurboTwist 2 addition, but it won't be done until next week.  I'll be out of touch with modern technology for a couple days, but after that I hope to get things up to speed.

I'll be sure to take a lot of pictures along the way.  I'm trying to design my swappable panels so they are simple enough for my kids to understand, yet enough to play the majority of games I loved when I was their age....  It's amazing how many different controllers there are.

I've already decided that the picture I've posted of the top is slightly off....  I've moved the controls one inch closer to the front, more for visual reasons than anything else.  It just looked strange with them nearer the back.
