Any work arounds for old ipac \ jpacs game scrolling issue

Not being able to hold down the joystick to scroll though games is very upsetting.

Also, has anyone given thought about using a second joystick for even faster scrolling.

P1 Down = 1 click
Shift + P1 down = next letter
p2 Down = 10 clicks
shift + P2 down = 100 clicks

Or something like this?

I assume you are using an i-pac where the auto repeat only works for the player 1 controls?

Also have you tried the other mala optins.

Controler- optioms (intervals)

Depending on the settings you make here , the keys set for 'x up and x down' behave differently. Eh Ope page at a time , next letter, or a numnber of games.

I have it set for next letter currently, but there are still hundreds of games in each letter, if not more, and clicking the joystick several hundred times to find a game sucks.

Thats why I was trying a work around.

It would be awesome if we could have a second shift for a second scrolling option.

I have one of these i-pacs myself.

No.  Its a jpac actually.  And I get no auto repeating at all.  I didn't even know player two controls could do scrolling.

while searching, I found someone made a program to cheap on the scrolling issue, but the download didn't work.

anyone else have this problem?

I have an old Ipac with the same problem, no auto key repeat.   I made a quick autohotkey script, which enables basic key repeat.

Here is a link to the thread with the download. There were two versions, one was a compiled .exe that you add to your startup folder, and will add key repeat for the standard player one controls.  The other is the actual script, you will need to install autohotkey to use it.  If you want to add support for the player two joystick, you will need to modify the script, it should be simple. 

Hope this helps, let me know if it does or doesn't work.  It's not perfect but seems to work OK for me.

Looks like the download is broken, as soon as I can get to my other PC I will post it again.
The script is only active when MALA is the active window or has the focus, so it doesn't interfere with gameplay.
