Can I adjust mame volume with hotkeys in Mala?

Hey!

I would like to have up/down volume bottons on the back of my cabinet..

So, can I do this from Mala? All I need is two bottons, one up one down. I don't use
any GUI sounds or BG music.

and here you can set the buttons to adjust volume

But it doesn't seem to work...

Nothing happens...I just mapped the up and down to two keyboard buttons

it will only adjust the volume while you are in the menu, not while in a game
and under sounds and music
options
put a tick in display volume on change, this will show the volume level when changing it.

if your using mame you can press tab while in game choose slider options and change the master volume with joystick left or right

Ok....I need to do it while in a game, so I just downloaded cabvol...that seems to work
(with only two buttons, one for up and one for down)
