Cab Coin Mech Query-Playchoice-Help!
« on: April 18, 2009, 07:52:58 pm »
I collected my first 'proper' cab today - my Brent Leisure Playchoice 10 -
and wow, what can I say, I'm chuffed... it's not mint (you wouldn't expect
it to be!) but for the price I paid I think it's in very good nick - most of
the restoration I think I can do with no problems and no queries... its
housed at a mate's house and at a house party this evening was
extremely popular (just hope no idiot damages it otherwise I will be upset
but hopefully should be okay)

However, there is one thing that wasn't working which I have speculated
at but need some opinion on...

Basically, the LED display in the marquee doesn't display anything - it
should display the time remaining...

When I opened up the top bit I noticed a bunch of crimped wires coming
from the LED display that weren't connected to anything (highlighted on
the left - the back of the LED display is highlighted on the right) - the
guy who sold it to me said that the cab was fitted with a Mars Multi
Mech... now I'm guessing that this wasn't the original mech and that
because these wires aren't connected to the mech (because this one
doesn't have the right connections) that is why the LED display is not
functioning - am I correct? And if I am, any suggestions on what mech I
need?

Thanks for your help guys!

if i remember correct all of that is right including the coin mech, either a mars ms115/116/126
i do not remember if they used a special credit board with led output so either trace the cabl through the cab or get more photos
i worked on a hell of alot of these but a very, very long time ago
i am sure they had a special credit board called a quadro or something like that-a big black square box
