Wiring an iPAC4 and Cthulhu PS3 board simultaneously
« on: May 31, 2009, 04:30:59 pm »
I have an idea for wiring an arcade cabinet with an iPAC4 and a Cthulhu PS3 boards, and I'd like to know if it's possible to wire everything normally, but "share" a wire between the iPAC4 and the PS3 board. Basically, I'd wire everything to the iPAC4, and then add another wire in the screw terminal to the PS3 board (so Player 1's Button 1 becomes the triangle button, button 2 is also the X button, etc.) Is it as easy as adding that extra wire to the screw terminal, or would I have to twist the wires together, then add both at the same time to the screw terminal? Any additional grounding issues?

If I wanted to use U360s and their built in buttons, would I just have to crimp the wires coming from the PS3 board to the quick disconnects from the U360 harness wires that I'd normally add?

Thanks!

I think you're going to need some diodes to isolate the two boards from each other.

In what way? Sorry, I'm a bit ignorant about that.

Does the Toodles Imp board do that? Maybe you can go to SRK and ask Toodles on the "official Cthulhu thread".
