  • I want to Build My Own Arcade Controls!!
i-pac, opti-pac or j-pac

I'm working on my first MAME project and wondering which of the ultimarc boards I may need for it.  I'm putting this in a working JAMMA machine, and want the standard array of buttons and joysticks, but also want a spinner and trackball.  Can anyone recommend which of the ultimarc boards will help me complete this project.
thanks

The I-PAC (Interface for Pc to Arcade Controls) is a small board which allows connection of arcade controls such as buttons and joysticks to a keyboard port or USB port on a PC motherboard. It was designed around the MAME emulator which supports over 1000 arcade games and can be used with other emulators.

The Opti-PAC (Optical Interface for Pc to Arcade Controls) is an interface for easily connecting passive optical-type arcade control devices including trackballs and spinners to a PC for use with emulators such as MAME.

The J-PAC (JAMMA interface for Pc to Arcade Controls) is a board which allows plug-in connection of a JAMMA arcade cabinet to a VGA card and keyboard port or USB port on a PC motherboard. It incorporates all the functions of the I-PAC

I copied these right from the Ultimarc website.  Let  us know if you have any specifice questions about them.

Hope this helps.
