Disabling keys...
« on: April 14, 2009, 10:29:11 pm »
Hello,

I was wondering If anyone knows if it is possible to
Disable The left alt key?

I'm currently using a HotRod SE and it uses  L alt key.
I'm finding that in various games, emulators this
Default bind XP has on this key is a pain in the rear!

Please notice I only mentioned Left Alt....

I need if possible to keep Right alt as this is needed to
exit My Game shell and Start explorer.exe to do
maintainence.

Thanks

Cool utility.  Know of one that lets you change keys on the fly?

That is, if I launch a game w/ a command line or bat file, can I remap a key on the fly, play my game, and then remap a key back to how it was?  Now *that* would be handy for running all the simple PC games that are somewhat cab friendly but don't provide key remapping functionality!

Thanks,
-Jason

 Yes What he said..

At least for those of us that don't have fancy encoders to
do the work for you... ;)

I was already looking at other key remapping tools....
though I did not want to actually be force to permanently change
the keys if I can avoid it!

I really just need to get rid of any locks windows XP has on these
keys!

I have most of my emulators set up nicely and they use the Left Alt
keys; so changing it permanently would make me have to remap
a ton of emulators...  :(

Most emulators are fine its just the ones that dont lock
out the Windows XP keys that are troublesome.

PSX emulator is the #1 culprit but a few others as well.
