How to view PDF manuals for N64 etc in Mala
« on: October 23, 2008, 07:49:17 pm »
Not sure if anyone is interested but I have been toying with the idea of opening pdf files of instruction manuals for N64 emu from within Mala so you can work out how to play them.

Well I finally did it
Manuals are available here

http://www.replacementdocs.com/download.php?list.12

now in Mala I went to controller\external applications\ chose other emu from dropdown and chose N to open
in the command line I put
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe C:\n64\%rom%.pdf

of course you would change the path to your adobe and also your pdf files.
now before playing the game pressing n will open the pdf file for that game as long as it has the same name as rom just like snaps etc.
right arrow will go to next page left arrow page before
ctrl + Q will quit and take you back to mala menu.

cheers

Hey this is great - thanks for the tip.  I am trying to do something where there's a "library/document" section in my main menu in case people would like to read strategy guides or look at maps or things like that - haven't quite figured out how to allow them to run while in-game (or if I even should) but great idea with the manuals being at the rom selection screen.
