Southern Arizona arcade meet-up
« on: January 30, 2009, 04:57:23 am »
I'm thinking of working up an arcade meet. The places I know are Castles and Coasters and Gameworks.

Also, if anyone in Tucson wants to do Golf N Stuff or the Gameworks at the Foothills mall, let me know.

Been a while since the last PHX meet up at C&C, I'd be game for either location. C&C has a nice collection of Pins so it's my preference, but it's also super close to my house, so I feel guilty if everyone else is coming from all over the valley. I'll go with whatever the consensus dictates.

I'm with you on selection. It's not much difference for me, either way, though. We've gotten some views, but only your reply so far. I may have to break protocol and post in Main. Of course, if someone with a home arcade is interested in hosting something, I'd pitch in for food and such.

I'm down with either location but my preference is C&C for the same reason as Zero's.   I'm sure Haruman will join in, too.

Hmm...

C&C gets my vote over gameworks...  although Gameworks does have SF4 now, not sure about C&C.

Depending on when its going down, I'd be in.  Another vote for C&C also for the pins.

Ah, cool. I only just caught mention of your 'condition', Goz, so I didn't know if you were up for it. No surprise on the voting. I'll post a 'heads-up' in Main just for coverage, and then we'll look at a date.

I'm out of town the weekend of Feb 27th so try to avoid that weekend, if possible.  I'd really like to make this.

C&C gets my vote. They have  Tekken 6 and some bitchin new games just purchased in the last 6 months. David Edge (GM) and the gameroom manager are planning a pinball tournament in the coming months too. I'd be hard pressed to go anywhere they don't have lots of pins.

Regardless of where and when we do the meet-up, please post when you get any specifics about a pinball tourney @ C&C, I have no doubt I'd get schooled, but that would be very cool.

Alright. Looks like this may be our full group, so let's figure a date. (Others can trickle in and  make what is decided on, or not.) Since Somunny's gonna be gone the weekend of the 27th, we got this coming weekend and next. Or it could be first weekend of March, etc. Also, what day, Sat or Sun?

Either Sat. or Sun. work for me, I would prefer 1st week of March. Based on our previous jaunt to C&C, we should definitely call ahead and make sure they don't have any private parties.

If we meet Mon-Thu, they have half price arcade credit buys. Other times are full price. I'm open pretty much any weekend. Goz... what's the schedule look like? Not traveling to Bolivia this weekend are you?

I'm sure Haruman will join in

Gonna have to check on his 'condition'. He says he's been out from a hernia operation. Probably tried to bench press Pixelhuggers cab.

I'm good.  It's been 2.5 weeks since the operation, I'm back at about 95% now.  Like other people, weekends work best for me.

Ha, no ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---. I remembered and then forgot to mention that. There are parties on the 7th, 28th, and 29th, until 1pm, so we'd have to meet then. Or do the 8th or wait till the fourteenth.

If we meet Mon-Thu, they have half price arcade credit buys.

That would be great, especially because then you can hear the classic games, but even more so the pinballs - both of which they seem to never have turned up!

Nope not traveling to Bulgaria this weekend. All my travel is put on hold at the moment. If its this weekend I wont know until tonight or possibly as late as Friday depending on how some personal stuff plays out.Sorry to sound wishy washy about it, but its the closest I can come to committing at the moment.

Been almost a week. Any updates?  I'm okay with this coming weekend, or the next, there's just no calendar of events for the rest of this month, and I haven't called yet.

I'm fine with that, though like mentioned above, there's a party which means the place isn't open to the public till 1pm. Which, thinking about it, is probably good timing.

It sounds like there is a private party that day, so after 1 PM ?  Showing up @ 1 PM sounds good to me, anyone else care to chime in?
