Can't get MaLa to find my roms

I have no idea how to get MaLa to recognize what games I have in my lists. I've set up all of my emulators, but have no idea how to make a list so MaLa can find my games. Can anyone help me out?

start mala then right click your mouse and choose options
now set your paths to your roms and emulator etc and once done press ok, it should now prompt you to create a list if it doesnt press 2 to open options and choose games and the refresh main game list

Okay I worked a lot of the day yesterday and added MAME to Mala with the game list and everything. I  then added FCEU to Mala and it loaded fine last night. This morning I went to add zsnes and fusion, however when trying to load them both up Mala crashed. MAME would crash too when I would try to load it, only FCEU would actually load the roms. I took everything off minus MAME and MAME worked fine. I went back to add FCEU and now it crashes every time I try to switch to it. Any ideas?
