Focus....

Anyone figure out why MALA loses focus sometimes when a video first starts playing (after coming out of MAME, etc)?   By losing focus,  I mean the video sort of takes over and nothing can be done (can't move,  etc) until the video completes a single run-through then it (evidently) buffers all the movements you do because as soon as the vid ends the first time through all the movements you made while focus was lost then plays out....

I really am having much too much "minor" troubles with this darned thing.

Does your selection/focus problem make a difference if you use a keyboard to scroll through a game list or if you use a trackball to do so?  I've noticed Mala having different bugs based on which method of game selection you use upon exiting.

Not sure...this is on a cocktail where i am only using a stick.

All functions stop operating other than the video when it happens (about 75% of the time!).   I can't go to the options menu,  I can't do squat until one run through of the video then it "catches up" all the buffered movements I made.

I've had focus problems, but not that one. It would appear that the codec itself is stealing focus. This codec is the one that's generally recommended for use with emumovies.

You must really have a strong reason for wanting to make MaLa work for you. You seem to have problem after problem with it, and yet you still haven't given up on it! Hopefully one way or another you can get your choice in FE to work well for you.

Part of the issue is some video problems for FrizzleFried have not been replicated.

Yeah...MALA is set up...works great aside from a couple of nagging bugs...and I am lazy.  That is why I wanna try to simply fix the bugs rather than just give up on MALA entirely...

...plus I've put too much time and effort in to this damn FE just to throw it all away!
