Which pinball should I get?? **edit BOUGHT ONE! edit**
« on: December 30, 2008, 09:24:27 am »
I'm contemplating on getting one of these pinball machines. Looking for some ideas of which one I should get and why? Or which ones to avoid??

The Getaway: High Speed II
Funhouse
Radical
Bride of pinbot

These machines are all fully shopped and relatively close to me, that's the reason for picking these 4 in particular. Prices vary of course, funhouse is definately the most expensive of the 4. Looking to get the best bang for my buck so to speak :)

Based on usual prices I'd say BoP is probably the best value but I don't know Radical all that well.

I agree Funhouse is the best game on that list but it's also more than twice the cost of anything else on it.

I'd probably get Funhouse for sure but ya the price is definately going to be alot more probably twice as much maybe. Definately will factor into my decision. I'd rather spend 1000-2000 not 2500-4000 or whatever the Funhouse is going for fully shopped by a professional.

Funhouse or Getaway.

I've sent the seller an inquiry on price and conditions of the machines. I haven't heard back yet though, it is the holidays though, so I'll be patient :)

I think I've narrowed it down to Getaway or Funhouse, really price will be the deciding factor, if he wants a MINT for Funhouse I'll probably end up getting the getaway. My son loves cars so it would be right up his alley for sure. He's 9.

Getaway has a DMD which would definitely make it more interesting for a kid I would think.

My kids prefer games without them... though they also prefer Pin2k games to DMD games.

I tried the starwars and the revenge from Mars pin2ks. Although they were actually fairly fun they definately are too different for me to actually own one. I think the short form factor is their biggest downfall. I still haven't heard back from the guy on pricing, I hope to hear in the new year. Maybe I'll just buy 2 instead of 1 haha...you only live once right :)

Funhouse for sure. Still makes decent money on the route.

Radical = sucks

Bride of Pinbot = sucks

Getaway = sorta sucks. High Speed was a helluva lot better than this game.

Thanks for the input Ken! I've seen a ton of your posts here and on KLOV and definately respect your opinions. I have played regular pinbot a bit and while it looks cool it's not the funnest machine either. I love funhouse, hope I can get a good price though!

Funhouse gets my vote as well a lot I have heard Rudy can be a ---smurfette--- to fix if he breaks.

A lot of people like Getaway, I heard one of my friends is looking for one.

Good luck with whatever you decide and besure to post lots of pix!

Good choice but Adam's Family, you can find a good price on one of them? I heard they are tough to find in good shape and I would assume at a good price.

You still at you 2 grand mark?

Finally made my final decision and purchased a fully restored Addam's Family from a super nice collector in Vancouver. Thanks Angelo! I won't get it for a couple months though! But still excited!!

No you may not ahaha..I would rather keep those details between myself and him as not to jeopardize his sales or anything. It's not cheap put it that way, but not completely absurd either, and he is a legitimate collector with lots of machines/sales. So I fully trust the machine to look and play like NEW when it's done.
