I know, huh? Particularly as that appears to be a Radeon HD version (the newest version of arcadeVGA), and given your price. Then again, maybe the drivers thing (something not uncommon depending on mobo, usually Dells) is scaring people away, as well as your own decision toward soft15khz.

You are right, took that bit out as it really isnt relevant.  Turns out the driver installed fine (in Vista nonetheless), it was my Lenovo that had the problem, either from onboard video card I couldnt disable, OR the BIOS wasnt allowing a PCIE video card.

THE CARD WAS JUST TESTED IN MY MUCH FASTER MACHINE & WORKED PERFECT, tempting me to keep it, but my old Dell will remain my MAME machine.

$79 shipped, come on!  I'm a nice guy   You WONT have any trouble, but if the card should have any issues at all I will refund.

BASS!

  • Just have fun.

I have a 4ghz c2d and I use one. If I played crazy 3d games I would choose something else, but this is invaluable and simple for using in tandem with a arcade monitor. Soft 15khz only works in windows, and will not help if you have to make bios changes. I think soft 15 is great, but the avga is still the gold standard.

ccg: on the contrary, it is relevant I think because it seems most people aren't familiar enough with the AVGA to know what model is what. Especially as Andy still has the AGP 9250 image for it on his site, with only a small entry in the features list for the HD2400. Maybe he sells more AGP? Anyways, too bad you found out the hard way that your board wasn't compatible with it.

uprightbass360: gold standard? All things considered, maybe just.
