I know the monitor works because it was 2 days ago showing a nice crisp picture, and i removed the power cord from the outlet while working on the machine, now while trying to turn it on again it's making a ticking noise and wont turn on ? any way to fix this ??

ticking is the power supply of the monitor trying to start but going into shutdown due to a short/fault condition-most likely offender would be the horizontal output transistor

did you try to feed this a higher frequency video signal than it is designed for?

well saw a spark , and i think i hopefully only fried a fuse. The reason why it started to bug out was because i tried drilling another hole to better support the board on the chasi and maybe it wasn't grounded or something, I removed it going to buy a new fuse now hopefully that's the only damage i did

the fuse is mostly filled all black after being blown, really tiny about the height of a nickle i think it says on it :

yes, that info should have been included in the first post
its a 3.15amp fuse probablt a 20mm-if it blows crapless again then you need to look at where you drilled the hole

ok good news i replaced it but with a 6amp fuse , and it's working 100%, however is this safe since the original one was a 3.15amp ??

no,get a 3.15amp asap unless you want some real fireworks at some point
never ever over rate a fuse
if you can't a 3.15 then a 3amp anti surge  will do

Doing such mods can get you into trouble, as well as void the warranty.

hello, i bought a konami 4 player rushing heroes football game and one of the monitors doesnt work.  my problem resembles this one.  it had a blown fuse when i got it. i put in a new fuse and i get a ticking noise and smoke starts pourin out of nearest i can tell is the "thing" that controls focus and brightness.  it looks like a transformer winding mounted in the back right rear of the monitor frame. due to the arcing and smoke i dont want to try and adjust or anything in case i make things worse. the monitor is a hantarex and it says the model is polo 25.  i have a schematic of a hantarex model mtc9110 which i assume is the same thing as they r both 25 inch screens and my cd doesnt include the polo 25 model?  at any rate is there anything as far as manuals that tell u whatthe problem is and how to fix it?  having schematics doesnt really help me.  something thatsays if yer monitor is ticking check this thingy and replace it like this? there is a jamma cable laying loose in the cabinet that im not even sure belongs with the machine.  this have anmything to do with my problem?  i dont see any slots that size to hook it up and like i said the other side works fine so i figure it doesnt belong to this cabinet?  any help is appreciated, im just learning my new hobbie!:).........scot
