6.3v 44's keep burning out is it because im feeding them 12v ?

Initially I had installed all 6.3v bulbs and i'm running 12v to them through a gigantic daisy chain they all worked for about a total of 2-3hrs of run time or so and then started to go / fade burn out is it related to the voltage as to why they went so quickly ? because I thought they were rated at 3,000 hrs according to the box. So do i need to buy 12v bulbs instead ?

No wonder why they were super bright! any one know where i can get a dozen of them cheap ?

You can buy them at many different places but here's a list of several different bulb types.

If you are going to use a 12V supply for them just make sure that it is rated for at least 12 volts keeping in mind the farther you go over 12V the dimmer the bulb will be but also the longer it will last.  Also if you are keeping the same light socket make sure you get a bulb that will fit (Bayonet T 3-1/4).

yeah probably 2-3 bucks for only 2 of them im gonna see if i can track these down online but probably the shipping will kill me

Yeah, I know all about the auto parts place costs. 
(but convenience in a pinch)

Happs carries what you're looking for, just look at the 14 or 14.4 volt variety.

The standard Taito cab calls for a #47 bulb at 0.15 amp.
(the #44's you have in there are rated at 0.25 amp)

So you could go with something like the #1813  at 0.1 amp.
Or a bit brighter with the #1815 at 0.2 amp.

Or look up a light bulb / lighting supply place near you.
Heck, check Lowes and Home Depot and such too.
Shouldn't really be a need to order online unless you plan on getting a couple boxes of them.

yeah chad at lizard lick told me the 14v that he sells should work if i feed them 12v, any pros / cons  to this ?

They'll last longer and burn a bit cooler.

A voltage rating on an incandescent lamp basically signifies the thickness of the filament.

whops i saw on lizardlicks web site that the 14v's are wedge not Bayonet Base.

yeah i was thinking just that.. i'd probably get 3x boxes which would be 30 lamps which isnt terrible for about 12 bucks with plenty of spares

This is what I did on my cab, works very well, I've yet to have one burn out....

True...but it's a lot easier to move the light wire from one voltage to another on the power supply.
