Calling all software gurus
« on: June 18, 2008, 02:52:52 am »
Hi all,
Amongst the jukebox software that I have installed on my PC over the years is a program called Touch-n-Go.
For some reason I keep using this software and it has grown on me. I like it because it mixes between songs and has a volume normaliser.
The problem is that I cannot register the demo anymore as the developer has moved on to other things.
The website is http://www.touch-n-go.com/.
I'd love to have a fully working copy on my PC.
Is there any software on this forum that would be able to be skinned to look like and perform like this software?
The demo (5mb) is available for download from here http://www.touch-n-go.com/dload/Touch-N-Go_Demo.exe
If anyone can help me out I would gratefully show my appreciation.

If you like it so much why don't you buy it?

Although I just checked that link and buggered if I can see the price listed anywhere.  :dunno

Well i know i couldn't skin my app to work like that. Doesn't look like that software uses cover art. Have you tried contacting the author about getting the full version? What did he say?

You cannot buy the software anymore as the developer has moved on to other things and is not contactable (despite sending many emails over the past year). He has taken the provision to buy the software out of his website and deleted all reference to pricing. Sorry, I must not have been clear on my first post.

No, it doesn't use cover art.

I could probably code something that worked like that but i just don't have the time. It's quite a simple app from what i can see, maybe one of the other guys might have the time. I assume there wouldn't be a problem ripping the graphics out of the demo version of that app seeing as it's end of life.

Thanks for the reply Barry.

I've just been playing around with AussieJuke's software, prompted by his reply to my post.

There's some real potential there as there is some similaritry between it and Touch-n-Go.

Hey AussieJuke, any chance of you lending some of the features of Touch-n-Go into your software?

Maybe but not for a while yet. I have a lot of things on my plate at the moment. AussieJuke is just one of them!

Freeware is lower in priority than the R&D work I do for a living. You know how it is... :blah:

If you know Visual Basic i did post up some code for a simple juke somewhere on here a while ago. You could download that and make it yourself.

Perhaps I can help. My name is Cliff and I am the creator of Touch-N-Go.
I spent too much money on programming and not enough on marketing.

It's pretty cool to hear you searching for software like mine and I would like to help you get a copy installed on your PC for free. I have been selling some machines and software, but I got married, had kids, and need more money. So I focused on making money and I now manufacturer roadside ice vending machines.

My Touch-N-Go.com domain expired and I thought I lost it, but was able to renew it. I searched  touch-n-go.com and found your comments. When the Touch-N-Go site is back up, I will be able to send you a code that will register the software for you.
Contact me at cars@icemychest.com.

When I start making a lot of cash,  I will get back into it. Till then, I am willing to hook you up at no charge. If any one from this forum would like a free full version, please contact me. But you have to send me feed back on what you think of the software, at least once.
I also had a version that played videos as well. It is pretty cool. There is a button to either display videos or audio files. The videos are a different color font so you know which ones are video. The downfall is that it does not mix the music when playing videos. I never got to fully polish this version. I might be able to get that to you as well, if you are interested.

There are bars who are still using my system, since 1999.
