Halloween MAME MaLa Game List Theme, and layout, anyone do this ? 4 weeks to go

If any one has done this please feel free to either type your other games to include or even easier upload the MaLa Halloween gamelist file, It would be even cooler if some one also made a Halloween layout to go with it, orange, bloody spooky spiders etc

This is actually such a good idea considering I am thinking about opening up the gameroom for Halloween to the kids and passing out candy there...

Scary music can be playing for the BG music and being an amateur ex-death metal vocalist I can make my own scary sounds for the front end sounds...eg: for the game select I could record a deathy-low-scary-reverb filled "Game selected....muaaaa ha ha ha haaaaaa"

Thanks Dungbeetle46! looks cool. I think for the font i might replace it with a  dripping bloody font like "dracula" etc. don't know how the game list will look but will probably try it. I guess I can always scale this up but do you happen to have a 1280x1024 version, in addition can you whip up a quick vertical one as well in 1024x1280 thanks in advance!

I thought this was a good idea too!  So I was gonna make a new theme, but what I had in mind would never make it by the deadline.   Maybe I should start an Xmas one now.

So, I hacked up my Generic Cocktail theme and based one off that.

Sorry, no additions to the gamelist though.

README:
Scalable (Created @1280 x 960).
Move the Curlz font to your system fonts if you dont have it.
The Video box is on top of the Snap/Titles box, if theres any confusion.
Includes 'Start', 'Exit', and other menus.
Bonus sounds: List movement, Start, and Exit.

Thank you.  I really like the heartbeat/scroll sound; its speeds up nervously as you scroll faster.  Like when Jaws attacks.

If anyone wants to use it, but wants something minor changed graphically, let me know and Ill fix you up (or give you the PSD).  I dont do custom sounds as I wing-it in that department (well, gfx too).

Is this something people actually use?  I know theres a few, but if theres somewhat of a demand I think I might start doing these seasonally.  I kinda like doing it, but if theres only 2 DLs per holiday I dont see much purpose.

If you people do want these, how do you like em?  Cartoony, ambiguous, serious, techy, sexy, be suprised?  In a prev post I wrote "xmas" and I cant stop thinking about a Futurama background with Leela and Fry and that xmas palm tree.  Is this something youd go for?

Loadman:  Id like to hear your thoughts.  Maybe a contest for every holiday?  I dont know what you win though.  It might be good advertisement, another "plus" for MaLa.  What about a "seasonal" sub in your "Layout" menu with the current/next holiday featured?

Doh, you had me all excited.  Mines on the internet though, but just through basic networking to admin the C: drive.  I dont actually have anything intarweb-needy.

So youre thinking one set, of all seasons, that would repeat over and over as the years passed?  And a PC date would switch layouts automatically?

I was thinking of something more like here: http://www.hpiracing.com/calendar/  Although not for every month, just the holidays, maybe the seasons.  Kinda like how iGoogle changes the main page depending.

I guess Ill start a Thxgiving one now.  Im abbreviating cos I still have Futurama in my head.

So Ive been working on a Winter layout, and, somewhat, a Thanksgiving layout.

The Thanksgiving one I dont really like, but this is what Ive got so far.

cant really comment on thanksgiving as I am in Australia where thanksgiving is something we see on the movies and still dont understand it.

Well... Umm... Unfortunately my portable-lappy drive died on Sunday.  Both themes were on there, PSDs and all.

Im going to get one of those IDE to little-ATA adaptor cables and try to rescue what I can tomorrow.

since you might need to start over:

i like the winter theme with the text inside what looks like ice, any chance to randomly have an animated snow flake thing happening ? also personally for me i would want the game list slightly more stretched so you can read more text, and place the screen shot down lower to replace the control panel box and move that all the way up above / maybe in the mountains and i'd instead place the marquees inside of it .. maybe have the marquee box covered with the snowy peaks from the mountains ? And while i like MaLa any chance i can have the psd's so i can remove the logo ?

also is the layout going to be 1280x1024 ? / can you make a make-shift vertical layout also. * or if you can toss me the psd files im sure i can make it vert
