Insert one of these into your PS2 and you can access homebrew programs, HD Loader and backups All without installing any modchips.  These will even boot HD Loader and homebrew on PS2's with dead lasers. These Memory cards are setup for US consoles and are not guaranteed to work with Pal or Japaneese PS2's, but should work fine with all US released PS2's, phat or slim.

Asking $32 $22 each and that includes shipping in the lower 48 states.

Or you can send me your PS2 memory card with $15 and I'll make one from your memory card and ship it back to you.

Thanks
Mike

UPDATE 11\19\08

Since interest in these is waning, I'll be selling my last two for $22 each shipped or both of them for $40 Shipped.

UPDATE 11\20\08
I've sold the last two I have in stock.  If anyone is still interested, contact me and I can make arrangements to get more made.

Thanks
Mike

Do you still need a high TOC PS2 disc for booting PS2 backups? I haven't seen anything saying you don't. (I already have MCBoot running, but haven't updated it lately)

TOC issues are for swap disks, MCBoot can boot backups directly...as long as the backup is patched.

That's what I meant. You still need a swap if you don't use ESR. (I'm not reburning 500 games)

I just insert Resident Evil: Outbreak, which is a high TOC disc, on startup.

Just thought I'd bring it up so that people know if they buy the memcard, they can still use their previously burned games, just need a single swap. (I have a flip-top)

You patch the iso's with a small program and burn them to a disk, then you run the ESR program from the MC Boot menu and the game boots.

Works really well

Or install a modchip
Or use a swap disk
Or use the independence exploit
etc etc.

Now that we have that all out of the way, anyone want one?

My reason for bringing up the discussion was to make sure potential buyers understood they would have to either patch games or use a high TOC swap disc.

My PS2 is chipped but the laser does not read disc for some reason.........so any games I have backed up will need this patch?

If your laser is fried, you are gonna need a network addapter and a harddrive set up to play games via harddrive.  Dead laser cant be saved.

All the info to make your own card is here

http://www.psx-scene.com/forums/freevast/

As for Hard drive stuff, you can either ftp into it or hook your harddrive up to your computer and transfer games to it that way.  There is software for doing it either way.

Im not real familiar with code breaker, so I don't know how to get the ESR backup loader to work with anything other than MCBOOT.  Sorry.

Nope, you just need the MCBoot program installed from your thumb drive to your mem card. I use it in conjunction with uLaunchELF. Now my PS2 boots straight to uLaunchELF, where I launch all of my apps from the hard drive, which are mapped to each button for easy loading.

Got mine yesterday... works no problem on the classic fat PS2... I found that I had to enter a second memory card to get it to work on my Slim. Other than that. It was  good. :)

Thats interesting.  I haven't heard that before.  Try placing the MC Boot card in the second Memory card port and running it.

Not sure how this thing works, but say I have a bunch of burned cd's can I still use those if so what do I need?  Just the memory card with the software on it?
Also if I have a 500gb hard drive with an external usb case loaded with a bunch of iso's can I use that?  if so what do extra do I need and again could I just use the memory card loader?

CD games don't work at all.  You have to change them to DVD.  Also, all DVD games have to be patched.  PAtching doesn't take long, but if you have a bunch of games, it could be a pain to re-rip them.

I've never used an External harddrive option on the slim ps2's.  I'm really not sure how those work.  I've always used the phat ps2 with the network adapter.  If all you need is an elf file to load external harddrive software, then it should work but the fact that the usb adapters are 1.1, the speed must be atrocious.

I keep meaning to set up a modded ps2 but never got around to it.  Guess I should start by seeing if my ps2 is fat or thin.  I haven't used it in so long I can't remember.

I have a midevil fat ps2 without network/hdd.  Is getting the bb adapter/drive rails expensive?  It's a version 3 PS2, can it use the hard drive and network adapter combo?

I've seen the network adapter for as little as $10 and as much as $50.  depends on where you look.  Once you get the adapter and a harddrive, its fairly easy to get games on the harddrive.

I've found the easiest, and fastest way is to hook it up to your computer and transfer ISO's directly (Either via IDE cable or USB).  You can also network your ps2 and do it that way which is more complicated and a lot slower, OR...you can install games right from the PS2 using the HD advance software, which I find slow, but it works (Except for Dual layer games)

Also, make sure you check the hard drive compatibility chart as some harddrives will not fit in the network adapter.

CD games don't work at all.

Not via ESR, but if you use a PSX game to swap from, you can load up CDloader or Swapmagic, then swap out. You have to be able to swap, via slide card or flip-top, but it is doable.

Hard drive (almost any IDE, though most Western Digitals don't work), Broadband Adapter, and the HD loader / HD Advance program (which Hoagie_One has included on the mem card).

NOTE: Not all games work from the hard drive, but more DO than DON'T.
