Coin Mech Help!
« on: June 10, 2003, 06:06:36 am »
Hi,

A year ago i built a MAME machine which had a 10p play coin slot which i wired up easily to an i-Pac...

However, i am currently building a MP3 Jukebox and i want to add a 4-coin mech to the machine.

I have a Coin Controls C220 mech, bit don't know how to wire this to an i-pac (as stated earlier i want 4 coins, 10p,20p,50p,

Sorry cannot help with the c220 mech.

VJB has 2 coin inputs that can be set for the number of credits per coin.   You might want to ask Cyberpunk if he has any software that will allow 4 coin inputs as he was working on a more commercial version.

Alternately if you can get the info on the c220 changer you might be able to generate pulses for the different coin inputs and thus setup vjb without a change in software.

You might want to refer to this link where a multi coin changer was used to supply inputs to an xarcade.

You can probably jump each mech with just a few minutes and a multimeter.  Why do you want such a variety of coins?  Unless you're going to put it in a place to try and make some money, it's going to be a pain to use.  Most people that have working mechs on their home machines keep a jar of quarters/tokens next to it just to keep the arcade feel.  I keep my juke on freeplay as I'd rather use it than plug quarters into it.
They say patience is a virtue, and ignorance is bliss.  So I guess you can have a pretty good life if you're stupid and don't mind waiting around.
