WTB: Modded Sega Saturn for EmuMovies Project
« on: September 19, 2008, 03:57:07 am »
In order to do video previews that are the best possible quality I have been using actual consoles for some of the more WIP (Emulation Wise) systems.

So far I have aquired:

Sega Dreamcast: Video Set 75% Complete
Panasonic FZ-1 3DO
DVS CDi

The only other system that I need for the project is a Sega Saturn, if anyone has one they could part with it will go to a great cause :D

I'm just hoping to find one that's not a rediculous price, since all it will be used for is making game videos.

Can you solder?  The Saturn mod is only 2-3 solder points.  +5v to the chip, ground, and sometimes bridging two points on the chip as a config jumper.  Very, very easy.

i cant give up my saturn, I play guardian heroes too much. its not modded but it does have the action replay 4MB expansion slot that I use for imports (dunno if back ups would work or not)
I got no problem letting you use it for a few weeks, I'll even pay to ship it to you; but you gotta pay to ship it back (and maybe burn some EMU movie DVDs for me lol)
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

The Racketboy mod chip I had did not even need to be soldered.  It had then wires coming off the chip already.  The power wires went to a spot where you could just firmly push it in place for a solid connection.  Definitely the easiest mod.

Yeah that would be the easiest way.  Make sure the power and reset buttons are Round though.  The oval shaped ones have a much more difficult mod chip.
