Keyboard Major Delay When Running MAME???
« on: August 22, 2008, 10:38:28 am »
Ive had my new cab up and running for about 6 weeks now, and have had this problem from the start and is really bugging me now, my system spec are as follows:

Gigabyte S775 Intel P35 ATX Audio Lan DDRII FSB133
Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 2.53GHz, OC to 3.8GHZ
Corsair Memory TWIN2X2048-6400C4 2x1GB 240-Pin DIMM XMS2-6400 CL4,
Samsung Spinpoint 500GB 7200RPM 16MB SATA300
Windows XP 64

Im using a Wireless Keyboard and has a USB receiver that plugs into a usb slot on my motherboard. When i run mame on its own the keyboard works as it should do, in mala itself the keyboard works fine, but when loading mame through mala once the game has loaded the keyboard comes unresponsive, if i press a button mame freezes for a second and then i get the response to the action ive press on the keyboard. Say for instance i push the '¬' key on the keyboard (the key next to '1' key) that brings up the brightness, contrast, gamma, sound volume etc options in mame, mame freezes and then the option bar appears, if i press up or down on the keyboard, mame freezes for a second and then instead on the menu moving down one setting say from brightness to contrast it will skip down about 2 or 3 options to one of the sound settings. Its as if theres a major delay and its as if the key is being pressed more than the one time sometimes!?. Now a few days ago i loaded up mala, and was selecting a game, but an error message popped up saying that an error had occured and would close down, i click ok to close mala but it carried on running, and the keyboard worked fine in mame. Now im woundering if it wasnt actually the main mala program that had an error but one of the sub programs/plug-ins, which when closed stopped conflicting with my keyboard?? Any ideas what would cause this kind of keyboard problem within mala?

Possibly the Keyhook?

Have you tried running MaLa without that dll in the mala folder?
