Custom Control Panel For Dynamo Cut Corner -- Help Please
« on: August 11, 2008, 03:37:14 pm »
Ok...so, let me be honest. My woodworking skills stopped progressing in 7th grade shop class. I suck at concept. I suck at design. I suck at implementation.
I have a 25in cut corner dynamo. The control panel is way too small for a track ball...and after 4 years...I want one. So, I will have to build a custom panel. I have searched and searched the forums and web and have seen a ton of 'finished' projects, but nothing for someone that needs their hand held from start to finished on how to build one and how to attach it to the cab. I am all about looks and I do not want it to look like a BOX sticking to a cabinet.
The original cp is used to hold the monitor glass in place...how will I get that to look good(it is a flush fit). Stuff like that have me perplexed.

Does anyone out there have a good write up (pictures are a definite plus) for a dynamo cut-corner cab control panel modification? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Signed,
The wood worker with an extra 23rd chromosome (look it up if ya don't get it)

I've seen a 2p layout w/ trackball on a 25" cut corner multiple times in the project section. Have you laid it out to scale?

The ones I saw had a small track ball 'squeezed' in. I want a full sized track ball with plenty of slap room for games like golden tee and bowling. I also don't want it to look clutered so there's a bit of room. It would be nice to be able to clamp on a logitec wheel from time to time...but that's just a side thought and not a necessity.

Well your best bet is to hack the sides down to create a shelf for a wooden box panel, Lusid style.
