Re-doing control panel

A quick one here... my current project is a big ass showcase cab... CUrrent;y routed for 2 sticks and 4 buttons, i am planning to move the sticks wider apart.

I was considering cutting a new panel, but i am without a table saw or band saw... jigsawing a big ass panel, or doing it with a follower bit seems excessively blegh!

SO... since i am planning on  re-covering the top with malamine I was wondering if anyone has Bondo'd button holes to re-cut???  THe spot where the sticks will be going  will be fresh wood. as will the trak ball i am putting in the center.

Or am i being overly Lame-ass?

You may want to consider cutting some plugs out of scrap wood, and bondo-ing them into the holes.  (I'm just thinking maybe the holes would be too big for just straight bondo).

People here have done it before, it beats cutting out a whole new panel.

I bondo'd some security bolt holes with no problem at all. If it turns out the holes are too big, you can try this: I bondo'd damage on the side of the cabinet. I wound up using some self-adhesive fiberglass drywall joint tape to make a "form" for the bondo to fill. In the attached picture I already did some sanding and cut the t-molding slot. I did more sanding before priming and painting.
