So, your topic says Nooo monitor. So does this really mean new??? If so I think you may have been a little mislead. The serial number seems to indicate made in April 2007.

Korek and Neotec then to do some pretty funny things when it comes to good design practise. I have seen them both use yokes that should have ben used on say a mid-res monitor on VGA and multi-syncs.

This causes the Horizontal circuit to work way too hard and take out HOT's and electrolytics. The kortek actually runs the yoke so hot that the epoxy that secures the yoke windings got so hot and cracked/melted.

First back to is this new... if so go back to where you bought it and check out the warranty. Should be at 1 year but becomes void if you attempt un authorized repair.

If out of warranty inspect all electrolytic capacitors for any signs (even slight signs) of the top bulging out. That is likel what is wrong.

good Luck

I think  he was implying that he was screaming NO and dragging out the O sound.
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

Just cuz a cap is not bulging, doesn’t mean they are good.

You, or a friend, should pull off a few caps around the deflection IC's and see if they are running with in spec.

I wouldn’t run the monitor too long in this state, or you’ll have to replace more components.

Minimum, its a couple caps.  Worse case, its one of the IC's

Hopefully one of the others that are more experienced will elaborate and share some experience with this make / model.   :)

if anyone in the south florida area (i'm in fort lauderdale) would be willing to come to my place and fix it for me i would be so happy.. of course i would pay this person.. i'm going to call some shops around here and see if anyone has experience with arcade monitors.. and hopefully i can find someone to fix it. I've never even used a soldering iron so i'm not going to attempt this.

If it helps somebody troubleshoot, I've heard (though not personally witnessed) that the mode switching can go nuts on these and get stuck in the wrong state.  Things like it will be setting the deflection outputs up for VGA, but you're feeding it standard res.  I could potentially see that causing something like this.  However, I don't know what causes it as I've never had it happen to mine or any that I keep in touch with the techs on.

It seems that some people get fairly good Kortek monitors while others get outright duds.  They seem capable of building decent stuff, but their QA and substitution engineering must be kinda, well, terrible.
