Gas pedals, any interest.

Id like a set of nice pedals... instead of the typical plastic ones sold.  I could probably make them myself... but theyd most likly turn out a bit yucky.  Also, I have little to no time to attempt it.

I think all the pedals should be analog.   As even if there is an incompatibility with that 'now' - it will get fixed eventually (I think mames dual analog controls work well now).   Analog pedals will also work with new race games.

You could optionally put a set of optics (or some sort of leaf switch?) that act as a digital switch - so that the pedals would be both analog and digital at the same time.

A clutch pedal should be added as well.  If not used for most games... it could serve as a hi/low or fire button...ect.

The main issue that I dont like about most pedal sets is the feel of the Brakes.  The brakes should feel harder to press in - like a real car.... yet most are just a duplicate of the gas pedal and are too easy to depress.

The housing should be pretty durable as feet are pretty strong  heh.

An option could be to have the pedals without the housing - to reduce shipping cost... and then those with the skills could make thier own housing for them.  Should reduce the cost as well.

Id pay 60-100$ if the pedals are of a high quality, analog + switch,  and most importantly have a good brake feel to them.

Generic Eric:

I would be interested in seeing a nice set of pedals.

Should they be made to be connected to an encoder? Or strictly an independent device?

I would like to see a unit that can be interfaced to anything... To pc or game consoles.

I would like to see them be of sturdy design.  If at all possible feel/look as real as possible .

I would like to see a top mount design, basically kinda like what I have in both of my cars.  know what I mean?

I would also like to have removable pedals, so I can go to Autozone and get the gas pedal shaped like a foot :D  Cheezy I know.

Generic Eric:

PaigeOliver, are you considering putting together a kit?

Also, I little switch connected to the brake pedal would be neat...that way it could trigger a brake light.  Again, cheezy I know.

Q1.  Interested, but not sure if I'll buy one now.  Half a year ago, before I bought a logitech USB wheel + pedals and a pole position gas pedal assembly, I would have.  If the price is nice, and it's a high quality assembly, I'd get one; otherwise I'll probably BMO.

Q2. Analog, but that's a given for me.  (hint: analog+ ;D )  The switch others have talked about would be nice, but not needed or planned to use for me.  Gameport would be okay, but I'd choose USB or that if given a choice.

Q3. How about just the pedal assembly, and assembly with the pedal bay as an add-on?  I think I'd just get the assembly and build the bay myself, but not sure on that.

Q4. I'd prefer both gas and brake.
With the following output: combined gas & brake on one axis (gas -, brake +), only gas on the next axis, and only brake on the last axis.  (or combined on Y axis, gas axis 4, brake axis 5, but that's just for a "more "standard" directX setup, not important).
I'd like a clutch, too, but that's not all that needed for me, so I won't pay much more for it

Q5. ~$25 for gas only, ~$40 for gas & brake, ~$50 for gas, brake & clutch, give or take a few $s.

I am considering it.  ;)
