Gas pedals, any interest.
SirPoonga:
That's because most people get their pedals and steering wheel from ebay :)

I may be floggin a dead horse but....
I have a super off road unit and have since pulled the wheels and the pedals from it wanting to use it on my big cabinet.
My main unit has a JPAC, OPTIPAC and a 2 player IPAC.
The steering works great, just like a regular spinner - No Problem...
My pedals are the point of interest.
In running ADVMAME with ARCADE OS (all dos)
how can i hook up my analog pedals (2 or 3 - (1 per player)) and use it while in mame (with super sprint etc?)
~ wiring & software?
Please help!
Thanks,
d
Here's a picture of my 'ultracade unit' I know that the name was used before but their out of business...
Chris:
What we need is a kit pedal that can be added on to the front of a standard cabinet without being in the way for regular games. I would like one similar to the following Happ pedal ($66 from Happ):
Ideally, this would have both a pot and a microswitch, so it could be read via either method. I would like to see the pedal be available even without a pot or microswitch; that way, we can hack our favorite gamepad or joystick, add a microswitch or appropriate pot to the pedal's mounting points, and away we go...

Hi Chris,
This is exactly the unit that I own (3 of them) a bit rusty but functional with the pot in it.
Now it's just needing some steelwool, tremclad and most importantly for me to have a clue how to hook it up as is based on the configuration above ???
Les:
No one seems to make a mame gas pedal. and the ones happ sells are pricy and ugly and seem more suited to sit down cabinets.
Would there be any interest in these?
And if so. Would you want an analog one that came with a gameport interface, or would you want a digital "on/off" one that hooked up to your Ipac?
And would you want just the pedal assembly, or a complete pedal bay ready to drop into your cabinet (you would have to make a cutout obviously)?
Just gas pedal, or gas and brake pedal?
Finally, what would you be willing to pay for one?
Q1: Yes
Q2: Analog. If the pots could be 5K ohm that would be nice for a dual strike hack or to intergrate the pedal assy. in a modular setup with other controls that use the dual strike hack (T2 guns, Star Wars yoke). Is it possible to use 5K pots in a pedal/steering assy.?
Q3: I'd want just the pedals and not the bay. I can figure out how to intgrate the pedals better without a housing. Perhaps the bay/housing can be an extra that is offered with the assy.
Q4: Gas and Brake
Q5: Depends on the quality your offering. I'll pay for quality. But quite frankly I don't know how you can compete with what would be out on ebay. I acutally (along wiht others I'm sure) like the idea of buying authentic arcade controls and refurbishing them back into pristine condition (as many have done with the Star Wars yokes, Spy Hunter yokes, ect....). If your going to make them out of plastic FORGET IT!
